IDEA Identity Easy Access Review
IDEA Identity Easy Access is a free Android application developed by Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.A. This app is designed to read and verify the RFID chip on electronic travel documents. The app is optimized for smartphones with NFC interfaces and performs optical scanning of the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of an electronic document to obtain the keys of access to the chip. It displays personal data protected by BAC and performs the security checks required to verify the authenticity of the document.
The app is useful for owners of electronic documents such as electronic identity cards, electronic passports, and electronic residence permits. It allows them to control their correct operation, verify their authenticity, and determine whether the data stored in the chip matches the graphics printed on the visible area. The app is optimized for documents issued by the Italian State, but future releases will be aimed at verifying the authenticity of electronic documents issued by foreign countries.
